How to submit a URL to Google the fastest way

For your website and posts to be indexed quickly and reach users, you need to submit your website URL to Google. So submit URL what is it? Why submit a URL to Google, and how can you get Google to process it quickly? Let's MONA Media find the detailed answers in the article below.
What is Submit URL to Google?
Submitting a URL to Google means notifying Google that your URL exists. You send the URL to the search engine (here, Google), so it can Google Bot crawl and index that link.
In detail, here are some terms you should understand in the process of submitting a URL to Google:
- Crawl: Crawl in SEO means following and collecting data from a link or page, depending on the URL you submit. When Googlebot checks your page or link, it also checks other links on the page (which may be backlink).
- Index: Is the process of adding URLs to Google Search Console. It makes those pages appear when users search for related keywords.

Why do you need to submit a URL to Google?
There are many reasons to submit a URL to Google quickly. The main ones are:
- Saves time: Googlebot can automatically crawl and index new pages when they first appear. But this can take quite a while because the bot has todig aroundfor pages on its own. Sometimes errors occur and the bot doesn't crawl or index your page. That is why you submit your URL to Google, as a reminder for the bot to crawl and index your page now.
- Clearer data about your site: Bots that crawl your site on their own only pick up part of the data. When you submit a URL to Google, a dedicated tool scans it and returns the full data on your page, including data bots cannot reach.
- Improve your site: Regularly "Checking in" through a URL submission tool gets you regular notices about your site's status. They are sent through the webmastertool, so you can spot and fix errors on your site.
- Crawl and index speed depends on your SEO optimization: The content of an SEO-friendly website is good, the link structure is solid, and there is a clear sitemap. Even so, Googlebot can still run into problems, so submitting your URL to Google is necessary.

When do you need to submit a URL to Google?
Usually when you launch a website for the first time, you should submit its URL right away so Google knows it exists. If you move your whole website to a new domain, you also need to submit the URL to Google.
If a website already exists and is indexed, you don't need to submit it. However, whenever the site changes, submit the URL again to get the page in front of Google.
How long does Google take to process your submitted URL?
If there were no clear difference between having submit URL submitted to Google or not, nobody would bother submitting. The biggest benefit of submitting a URL to Google is how quickly Google processes your page.
As mentioned, bots can find new pages by themselves to crawl and index, but it takes quite a long time: from a few hours to several weeks or even months. That hurts the results of your SEO to reach the top and the business of many companies.
With a quick URL submission, though, that time is cut sharply because your page is already on the bots' list and they don't need to spend so longhuntingfor new pages.
Theo HubSpot, for a new page that was not submitted, Google takes on average about 23 hours to finish crawling. That figure drops to about 15 minutes if you spend a little time submitting the URL to Google.
Crawl and index times also differ from one domain to another, so submitting is essential for your website.

Check Index
Before submitting a URL to Google, check whether your page is already indexed using the URL Inspection tool built into Google Search Console. If your URL is not indexed yet, submit it to Google right away.
From 25/7/2018, Google officially retired the Submit URL tool. Everything related to it moved to Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools). Here are some ways to submit URLs in that tool:
Method 1: Request indexing with a sitemap
With this method you send your sitemap through Google Search Console. A sitemap is a table listing all links on your site, a file holding information about the website. To do this, you need to find the exact sitemap URL for the whole site.
To find the exact URL for your site, you can also use a SEOQuake plugin to help fetch the sitemap link. Or verify your site directly with Google Search Console, then enter the sitemap path so the tool starts crawling.
The fastest way, with no third-party help, is to work directly in Google Search Console:
- Step 1: Choose one of the two options "Domain" or "URL prefix" and enter your URL.
- Step 2: After you click "Continue", and the system gives you a code to verify the site. Once the site is verified, it becomes available in Google Search Console.
- Step 3: Open the Sitemaps tab. In the "Add a new sitemap"box, enter the part that follows .com/ :<sitemap.xml> then click Submit
Example: https://mona.media/sitemap.xml
The system then shows you the status of your sitemap submission.
This way, every URL on your site is crawled thoroughly and indexed. However, it takes a while to complete. It is considered the fastest way to submit URLs to Google.
Method 2: Submit each post URL you want indexed
This manual method and the "Fetch" function work the same way Fetch as Google's, for indexing a post. But after Google Webmaster Tools became Google Search Console, the command tabs and how to use them changed. In essence the two methods are still one and the same and work the same way, only the way you use them differs. The new version is easier to understand and use than the old one.
The benefit of this method is that the site admin decides which content gets indexed right away. You can use this function in Google Search Console:
- Step 1: Go to Google Search Console and enter your URL.
- Step 2: Open the "URL Inspection" tab and enter the URL of the post you want indexed now.
- Step 3: Then click Request indexing.
Wait until a message appears like the one in the image below. That means it's done. This can take a few minutes.
Your post is then indexed right away. With this method you can only index one URL at a time, so use it for sites with few URLs to save time. Also, using it manually may make Search Console limit your indexing requests to prevent spam.
There is also a way to submit a URL directly in Google Search Console, but it is much the same as the manual method above. Instead of choosing the "URL Inspection"tab, Google Search Console has a large "Inspect" box at the top of the page. You can paste the link you want indexed into this box and wait for indexing as above. This is a handy feature of the new Google Search Console interface compared with earlier versions.
Method 3: Submit URLs to Google in bulk with Blogger
The two GSC methods above only scan one link at a time on your main site. To submit URLs to Google in bulk across many pages, you need a different approach.
Here we introduce a way to "Submit your URL to Google" using Blogger. The steps are simple:
- Register a Blogger account.
- Connect GSC to Blogger.
- Write a post and insert links into it.
Example: Say your website has 20 new URLs and 20 new posts. You would insert these 40 URLs into the posts so Google can discover and index them.
Method 4: Submit URLs to Google with indexing tools
There are many tools for sending URLs to Google, such as My Pagerank, Indexking,… Depending on their features, you can choose the tool that suits you.
Note: Google Search Console (Webmaster Tools) limits the number of URLs you can submit per day to prevent excessive link spam.
Other ways to register a URL with Google
Besides the popular ways above to get a page onto Google, there are other ways for Google to learn that a new URL exists without GSC or other technical tools. Although you could call these online submissions, they only help Google know your URL exists. They are:
- Internal Links
- Run Google Ads, do social media and similar, which help Google find your URL through the traffic traffic coming in

Frequently asked questions about submitting URLs
1. What should I do when submitting a sitemap shows "Couldn't fetch"?
The problem may come from the website or the hosting provider. First try submitting the URL or website again. If it still fails, contact your hosting provider for support. The file htaccess configuration can also cause this error, so check your .htaccess file as well.
2. Which tool submits URLs or websites fastest?
Each tool has its own pros and cons, and the right link submission tool depends on the situation at the time.
3. Why hasn't my site reached the top even though I submitted it?
Submitting a website only lets Google know it exists and crawl its data. It does not mean your site will reach the top of search results. To rank near the top, you need to build better content than the competitors already there.
4. How do I check whether a website has been indexed?
Type the syntax "site:tenmien.com" into Google. If nothing comes back, your website has not been indexed yet.
