Where to Buy WordPress Themes? How to Choose and Avoid Nulled Ones

Mua theme WordPress where to buy is a question that costs many people more time than building the website itself. The market has an official free library, paid international marketplaces, Vietnamese marketplaces reselling at low prices, and an underground stream of cracked themes. Each source has its own price and its own level of risk.

In this article we show which source suits whom, how to check a theme before you spend money, and when buying a theme is no longer the right choice.

A theme matters for more than looks

A theme is the design package of a WordPress website, but it is more than a skin. A theme decides page load speed, heading structure for SEO, and how easy the site is to edit later. A heavy theme can slow down a whole website even on strong hosting, and a sloppy theme makes every WordPress update a nerve-wracking moment. If you are new to the platform, read the article What is WordPress first to get the big picture.

Four sources of WordPress themes and the risk of each

The line worth noticing is in the last two rows. An unusually cheap theme is almost always a shared license or a cracked copy. At a time when Vietnam is tightening software copyright enforcement, a business website running a nulled theme carries legal risk and is also a common way in for hackers: we have cleaned up many websites injected with dirty ads where the source of infection was a theme downloaded from an unknown place.

Five checks to run on a theme before buying

Before you pay for any theme, running through these five checks will avoid most wasted money:

One, view the demo on a phone, not just on a computer, because most Vietnamese visitors browse by phone. Two, score the demo's speed with a page speed tool. Three, check the theme's latest update date, since going over a year without an update is a bad sign. Four, read the low ratings first and the praise second. Five, if you are given a trial copy, scan the source code with WordPress theme checking tools. If your website is already running a theme of unknown origin, also check it with WordPress website security steps.

See real samples instead of imagining: over 1000 samples at mauwebsite.vn

A faster way to choose than browsing international marketplaces: go straight to mauwebsite.vn, a library of over 1000 website samples organized by industry and built by MONA. Every sample has a live demo you can click through the way your own customers would. Once you pick a sample you like, the MONA team builds from it and adjusts it to your own brand, instead of you buying a theme and struggling to fit a logo into a ready-made frame.

This route also removes the copyright problem from the section above: a website built at MONA uses a theme built by MONA and gets free Pro licenses for the full set of 7 MONA plugins (SEO, security, forms, multilingual, e-commerce…), which means no buying paid plugins one by one each year, and no gambling on a cracked copy.

When to stop buying themes and build a custom design

A ready-made theme is made to serve the masses, so it always has things you do not use and lacks exactly what you need. We see three situations where a business should consider a custom-built design: the website is the main sales channel and needs maximum speed; the sales process has a step that no theme fits; or the brand needs an identity that does not collide with competitors using the same popular theme.

A custom build costs more than buying a theme, but over the full lifecycle it is often the reverse: a ready-made theme brings the cost of hiring someone to adjust it for every change, while a custom design is built for your needs from the start. See how we work in the designing a website with WordPressservice, which includes custom theme and plugin code.

Common questions when buying a WordPress theme

Can a theme I paid for once be used forever?

Usually you can use it forever, but you only get updates and support during the license period, commonly six months to one year. After it expires, the theme still runs but gets no new patches, and the longer you use it, the greater the security risk.

How many websites can one theme license be used on?

Most international marketplaces sell licenses per website. Anywhere that sells one cheap license and promises you can install it on any number of sites is almost certainly a shared license, and you should avoid it.

Is it a problem to buy a theme for a few tens of thousands VND on a Vietnamese marketplace?

That price is tens of times lower than the original, which means it is not the genuine product. A serious business website should not sit on a theme whose source code nobody takes responsibility for.

The takeaway: pick the source first, pick the design second

The right order when buying a WordPress theme is to choose a trustworthy source first and a pretty design second, because a pretty design on a bad source is a time bomb.
