You are the admin of a Facebook Page but you have lost admin access to your own Page. Many people run into this kind of trouble. So why does it happen, and how do you get Facebook Page admin access back ? Let's MONA Media find out in this article.

Why you may lose control of a Facebook Page

It is not hard to see why you might lose control of a Facebook Page. These are the most common reasons:

Your Facebook Page was hacked

This happens to most Pages on Facebook. Many accounts are hacked by strangers who want to do harm or ransom your admin access. Pages with a large number of followers are the hacker target. They get into the system and take away your admin rights. Once they are in, they have full control of your account. So you should turn on two-factor authentication and avoid making your page managers public. Fanpage. -> See also: Facebook Ads Services Professional and Reliable

The Page no longer exists

If you cannot find your Page, it has been deleted. Once a Page is deleted you cannot do anything more with it. It may have been deleted because you clicked delete by mistake, or because a stranger deleted it after hacking the Page.

The Facebook Page has been disabled

Some Pages make mistakes that get them locked by Facebook, such as posting copyrighted content or content Facebook prohibits. This leads to violation reports and the Page stops working. If an admin's personal account is locked, the Page they run is locked too, because Facebook blocks the risk of users who break its rules. Running ads on the Page without paying for them can also get the Page locked. Once a Page is locked, you no longer have control of it. You need to find a way to get admin access back quickly, and avoid breaking Facebook's rules so it does not happen again.

How to regain control of a Facebook Page

Here are a few things to keep in mind when you want to get Facebook Page admin access back.

If your Page was deleted

For some reason you decided to delete your Page, and later you want it back. After you choose to delete a Page, Facebook asks whether you are sure. If you click “Yes” the Page is deleted. However, Facebook still lets you restore a deleted Page, since it keeps it for 14 days after deletion. If you take no further action after 14 days, the Page is permanently deleted. A Page that was only just created is deleted right away. To restore it, go to Settings in the top-right corner of the Page. Scroll down to “Remove Page” and click “Cancel deletion” to undo the earlier action. Finally click “Save changes” to apply it. That gets back the Facebook Page you deleted. Keep an eye on the time limit, though. Once it has passed, you can no longer restore the Page.

If your Page was locked

Facebook will send an email to your contact address explaining why your Page was locked. Read it carefully to understand why Facebook took this action. Then complete Facebook's verification requests, send your reply and wait for the result. If Facebook gives you no notice that the Page was locked, go to the address set up by Facebook's help center. Enter the Page's email address and Page ID in the fields and submit. Facebook will guide you through solving the problem. You can also send an appeal to Facebook explaining your reasons and requests. Avoid any action that breaks Facebook's terms of use so the Page is not locked again. If the problem is serious, the Page may not be recoverable.

If your Page was hacked

A Facebook Page gets hacked when bad actors want to steal admin access, or when you accidentally click a strange link link. When the Page account is hacked you can no longer manage it, so you need to get admin access back quickly. You can regain control by resetting the Page's password. First go to the Page account and choose “Forgot password”. Facebook will immediately ask you to confirm the address the Page is registered with. An activation code is sent to you by message. Enter it at once, or it will expire. Then set a new password for the Page. To avoid being hacked again, choose a strong password with numbers, upper and lower case letters and special characters, and add a second layer of protection with two-step verification. See also:

How can you protect a Facebook Page best?

A Facebook Page is like a child to its admins, the people who created it. Attracting followers takes a long time and a lot of hard work from the admin, so nobody wants their Page to be unsafe or out of their control. Set up the Page's security with a hard-to-guess password and add a second layer of protection. It is like your home: you need a door and the best lock you can get to keep burglars out. Your account password works like that lock, protecting the Page from being stolen. Also keep the email address and phone number on the Page up to date, since that is how Facebook contacts you when there is a problem or when you need to verify the account. Do not give admin rights to many people or click on strange links, to avoid being hacked. Make sure your content does not infringe copyright on Facebook. Pay for any advertising that Facebook requires payment for. Read Facebook's rules carefully so you do not make a mistake that gets the Page locked. Do you now understand the reasons you might lose control of a Facebook Page? Knowing the causes helps you avoid mistakes that harm your account. If you are in a similar situation, we hope the information here helps you get your social media account back.
