How to create a post in WordPress, step by step

For beginners who do not yet know how to publish a post on a website WordPress, picking up new tasks can be hard. To help beginners get comfortable with the posting features in WordPress, MONA Media has created this guide to creating a post in WordPress in full detail. It should help beginners create and upload posts on WordPress with confidence.
1. Go to the admin of your WordPress website
Before you publish on a WordPress website, the administrator will give you the website address for logging in to WordPress and posting. The first thing to do is open the admin link you were given and log in to your account.
When you open the address you were given, you will see 2 empty fields to fill in: Username or Email Address and Password. Both pieces of information are provided to you by the website design company or website management service. All you need to do is enter them correctly and click Log in and you are done.
Before you click Login, if you want to be remembered so you do not have to log in again next time, you can also tick Remember me. And that's it: you are now logged in and can publish on your WordPress website.
2. Write the title and content of the post
After a successful login you will see the WordPress dashboard for posting. Next, open the Posts menu, shown as “Bài viết” in the Vietnamese interface. Select “Posts”.
Next, choose add new to create a post in WordPress. If you have already written it in Word, you can copy and paste it into WordPress. If not, you can write directly in WordPress before publishing.
Some WordPress sites come with plugin Yoast SEO installed to show how well your post is optimized. A post rated Ok or Good is good to go. If the post gets a warning of need improve you should review your content. Perhaps your sentences are too long, your paragraphs run over 150 words, or each heading section runs over 300 words,… You can use the Yoast SEO panel below to find the errors to fix.
By finishing this step, you have completed 30% of the process of posting on WordPress. Also, some websites will ask you to use Heading 2 and 3 and to add tags. You can find these easily in the WordPress editor.
If you want to see how your post will look on the website, you can click Preview at the top right of WordPress. If your WordPress interface is in Vietnamese, Preview shows as “Xem thử”. Or, if the post is not finished, you can save Draft to continue writing later. This also means that if something goes wrong with your computer or the website, or the power goes out, your post is kept in WordPress.

3. Choose images and insert links into the post
After writing the post, you will look for images and download them to your computer. Save the image files somewhere easy to remember and upload them to the website. Or you can choose images already in the library to insert into your post. This is the basic way to add images to a post.
In addition, some websites require specific image dimensions and file sizes, so you will need to find images that match, or use software to photo editing the image to meet the requirements. We will share a guide on image editing in upcoming topics.
You will click Add Media at the exact spot in the text where you want the image. To use an image already in the library, click Media Library. To use an image from your computer, choose Upload Files. Then find the image file you saved, upload it to WordPress and insert it into the post.
Some WordPress setups also ask you to edit basic image details, such as centering the image on the page, choosing a size, adding alt text,… Then, depending on the theme, click Ok, done or update and you are done.

5. Save the post or publish it
Before saving or publishing the post, you will need to choose a suitable category for it, and you may need to add tags. These steps matter a lot before publishing. You should also use Preview to check that the images look good and that the content and layout make sense. Give it one last edit before you publish.
For websites that do not require writing directly in WordPress, you can write in Word, check the spelling carefully, and then post to WordPress, which makes it easier. For a general overview and easier handling, you can also look for video tutorials on how to publish posts.
