Questions about creating and scheduling timetables online
Is the tool really free?
Yes. You can use the tool, load data, build schedules and download results without paying or creating an account. MONA keeps the tool free so schools and centers can check how the engine handles constraints before considering a full operations system.
Does the timetable data go to a server?
No. The engine runs right in the browser and the data stays on your device. The save draft feature uses the browser's localStorage; clearing the site data deletes the draft. The page does not send class or teacher lists to a server.
How many classes can the tool schedule?
The interface does not set a fixed class limit. What it can handle depends on the number of assignments, the number of time slots and the device you are using. The included sample has 12 classes, 20 teachers and 168 assignments so you can test it directly on your device.
Does it schedule double periods?
Yes. Tick Double period on an assignment row and the engine will try to place two consecutive periods in the same session. This is a soft constraint: if the hard constraints have taken all the slots, you still get a schedule along with a note about the missing double periods.
Does it work for teachers who teach at several schools?
Yes. Enter the days and periods the teacher is busy at the other school. The engine removes all busy slots before scheduling. If the assigned periods exceed the free slots, the tool stops and says exactly which teacher is overloaded.
Can I export to Excel?
Yes. The two buttons, CSV by class and CSV by teacher, create UTF-8 files with a BOM so Excel reads the Vietnamese diacritics. You can also download JSON to keep the raw data, or choose Print / PDF for a landscape A4 copy.
How is it different from installed timetable software?
The tool runs on the web, with no installation and no central data. It works well for building a standalone schedule. Operations software adds permissions, mid-term changes, substitute teaching, rooms and syncing with other school work.
Where is the engine's source code?
MONA publishes the engine at github.com/themonagroup/mona-thoi-khoa-bieu. The repo explains the input schema, the scheduling API, constraint checking and the export formats. This page uses the browser IIFE build from that repo and does not rewrite the algorithm in the interface.
