Footwear manufacturing and export factory

Nhật Minh Footwear

Nhật Minh Footwear is a shoe factory in Thuan An, Binh Duong, built by a family with two generations in the trade. A 15,000 m² workshop handles every stage — pattern design, cutting, sewing, lasting and assembly, finishing and inspection — with more than 500 staff, more than 1,000 machines and a capacity of up to 150,000 pairs a month across four lines: leather shoes, sports shoes, high heels and sandals. Goods are packed in the same building where they are made, then shipped FOB to Europe, Japan, Korea, the US and New Zealand.

MONA designed and developed an English website for Nhật Minh, built for people looking for a factory, not people buying a pair of shoes. The whole site follows one thread: how big the factory is, what it can do, how to work with it, who has audited it and which markets it ships to.

The challenge

Buyers in Europe or Japan visit this site to vet a factory

Nhật Minh's customers are not consumers. They are the sourcing team of a European brand, a trading house in Japan, a buyer in the US — people who open a factory website to vet it, and they ask the same few questions: how many square metres is the factory, how many lines, how many pairs a month, does it make its own samples or outsource them, which audits has it passed.

So we dropped the old-style company profile format entirely. The homepage opens with a real photo taken on the Binh Duong sewing line, not a stock factory photo, then answers straight away with numbers: 15,000 m², more than 500 staff, more than 1,000 machines, 150,000 pairs a month. Five chapters numbered 01 to 05 run down the left edge as you scroll, so readers always know which part of the profile they are in.

All content is written in English, in a direct, short voice, because the people reviewing the profile skim rather than read closely. Where something could be misunderstood, it is spelled out: the certification page clearly separates GRS, which is a certificate, from amfori BSCI, SMETA and SCAN, which are audit programmes that produce reports — exactly what a compliance officer needs to read first.

Deliverables

What MONA did for Nhật Minh Footwear

  1. 01

UX/UI design for a factory profile — large serif type, a light paper background with deep navy bands matching Nhật Minh's identity

  2. 02

Website development on WordPress, with each page block built from scratch instead of assembling ready-made templates

  3. 03

Building a full set of English pages for international buyers: capability, OEM ODM, markets, products, certifications, sustainability

  4. 04

Building the five export markets map and a scroll effect following five chapters numbered down the left edge

  5. 05

Building a six-field enquiry form with a tech pack PDF upload field, and optimising loading speed and mobile display

Interface experience

The rest of the profile, where factory hunters spend the most time: three partnership routes that spell out who keeps the samples and who buys the materials, a comparison table of four audit programmes, and an enquiry form that lets buyers send their tech pack PDF directly instead of arranging it by email.
