5S Media

5S Media is an integrated marketing communications agency based in Hanoi that has spent more than 12 years helping businesses build and grow their brands. They offer five service groups (integrated marketing communications, event management, public relations, social and digital, graphic design) and package them into nine solutions sold separately, from press PR, policy communications and reputation management to Go Global and Exclusive MICE. Their client wall includes Oracle, Hitachi, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Fujifilm, Viettel, CMC, Dow, SCG and Temenos.

MONA designed and developed a bilingual Vietnamese – English website for 5S Media. For an agency, the website is the sample of its work: clients look at the site and know how good the agency is. So we built it as a communications product rather than a company profile page.

The challenge

An agency's website is a sample of the agency's own work

5S Media's clients are the marketing teams of Oracle, Hitachi, Panasonic and Viettel. These people review agencies all day, and the first thing they open is the website. A flat company profile page answers the most important question for them, in the worst possible way.

So we built this site as a communications product. A gradient background from navy to teal, content blocks as layered frosted-glass cards, service cards fanned out at an angle like a deck of cards: the kind of visual language an agency uses to say it knows how to make visuals.

The harder part was the structure. 5S sells five services but packages them into nine solutions, and the two layers do not line up. We split them into two separate page systems, giving each solution its own page numbered 01 to 09 and cross-linking it to completed projects with a View project button. The project page filters by five fields (industry, service, solution package, budget and need) so a buyer can find a case like their own. Everything is built bilingual in Vietnamese and English.

Interface highlights

The parts we put the most care into: nine numbered solution packages cross-linked to completed projects, the five-field filter on the project page, and project detail pages that end with real numbers instead of praise.
